Druids are one of my all time favorite classes and number 4 on my “time played top list”. I have had a lot of druid alts through the years and also played druid as main. These days I play both a tauren and a night elf druid. The tauren was my first toon to ding 90. My night elf is level 86 at the moment.
One of the best things with druids is that they come in a lot of different shapes; with fur, feathers and leaves. I have tried all roles and specs a druid can have but I always come back to my two favorite ones: healing and tanking. Both my druids are main speced resto with a guardian offspec and I wouldn’t want it any other way.
As a druid healer I have spent a lot of time in tree form. I do like the new graphics, it’s very cool and looks more epic than the old treant form, but it’s not the same. I guess I’m just one of those players who get nostalgic for that sort of thing. So when they added the old treant form as a purely cosmetic shape this expansion I was one happy druid. Now I can do my cute tree dance in front of AH all night long if I want to!
I also love the graphical changes that have been done to the cat and bear forms over the last few years. It’s great that you can see what race a cat or bear is even though they are in form. And the different fur colors! That change made my night elf go from white to the dark turquoise hair. Now she’s almost the same color as her Dun Morogh Cub when in bear form.
And speaking of bear form; it’s the perfect attire for all situations. Works well both for napping and going to a wedding.
Most people know that druids are excellent herb pickers due to their flight form. But not all are aware that the tauren druids are the best herb pickers there are due to their fast picking racial ability. You’re like a vacuum cleaner swooping across the country side just snaching up flowers as you go along. It’s even easy to pick flowers while getting bashed up by a group of mobs. My tauren druid is crazy for flowers!
My night elf on the other hand couldn’t pick a flower even if her life depended on it. I know, she’s a strange druid. I did think about changing her professions but she has two crafting professions and some patterns I don’t want her to loose. My long term plan to fix this is to level a worgen druid on alliance side and have her be my flower picker there. You can never have to many druids!
