Paladin is one of my all time favorite classes and number 3 on my “time played top list”. I’ve played a bunch of paladins through out the years. These days I have two, one alliance (Nef) and one horde (Lore). Both of them are level 90 with holy as main spec and retri as off-spec. Usually I prefer to go prot for off-spec but for this expansion I’ve stuck with my retri spec after leveling. I will probably give prot a go on one of them soon enough.
My current main, the alliance paladin, was my second ever pladin and she was made in late vanilla. There wasn’t much plate gear for healing in vanilla , so you had to go for other armor classes. But usually it wasn’t a problem. I used to live by the motto: “if you need armor rating to heal in PvE you’re doing it wrong”. This was also the case in TBC, where we had more plate but not really enough. Even though we have great plate heal gear these days I some times miss those old days, Nef did manage to have some great looking dresses now and then.
During WotLK I faction changed Nef for a while. But I missed my friends ally side and ended up changing her back a few months later. As a result Lore was made. With a pally on either side I would never have to faction change either of them again. Lore ended up being my main for most of Cataclysm.
Since Nef recently took over the role as my main character again (after me playing for a looooong time without a proper main) I have spent most of my time this week playing her. I’ve managed to do a few new things on her:
- My first ever LFR with the added bonus of dinging friendly with SPA, something I have been wanting to do for a long while now.
- My first HC scenarios. I just love being a goblin pally in the goblin scenarios. If the blood elfs could steal the light, why can’t the goblins? Goblin pally FTW!
